Icarus Reimagined is a photo and video series inspired by the Greek myth of Icarus, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens to explore themes of vanity, ambition, and the consequences of flying too close to the sun. Gold wings serve as the metaphorical anchor of the work, symbolizing both beauty and vanity. This project questions society’s obsession with self-image and the reality of women being perceived as either self-absorbed or not confident enough. The interplay between the two settings — a controlled studio and the raw streets of Paris — mirrors this tension, contrasting the polished idea of vanity versus the unpredictable chaos of reality.
